Brands We Love: Johnstons of Elgin
As I’ve mentioned before, finding the right beanie is tough.
My material preference is cashmere (Cashmere helps with keeping you warm when outside and not dying when wearing it inside)
My style preference is to sit comfortably on the head and not tall. This sounds easier to find than you think. (I have a small head, OK!)
Well, good news for you. After too many trials to admit, I’ve settled on what is now my favorite beanie.
Johnstons is one of Scotland’s best-known and oldest knitwear companies. They’ve been around since 1797!!
This blows my mind.
Another reason to champion a brand like Johnstons is they are big on sustainability and humane production.
“Sustainability is at the heart of our brand’s values. We have worked with natural, renewable, biodegradable fibers since 1797 and strive to reduce our environmental footprint year after year. We aim to tread lightly, but we still have work to do. “
They even put out a “modern-day slavery statement” about their production practices. 👏
Lastly, they do much more than beanies and scarves, but I can’t speak to the clothing and knitwear from them. I would assume it’s top-notch.
Let me know if you try one and what you think.
PS: Their cashmere beanie in a few unique colors is on sale. Highly recommend you give them a shot!
