Unstructured?

I’ve always been a fan of lightweight tailoring.

Since day one, the unstructured jacket has been a staple in our offering.

The relaxed nature of lightweight jackets fits in well with the temperatures of the south.

In the summer, a lightweight fabric used in an unstructured jacket is cooler.

In the fall and winter, I love to use heavier fabrics unstructured not to run too hot. It never gets “that cold” here, so this works well.

If this interests you, be sure to get the fabric right.

The critical characteristic the cloth needs is body.

It needs to have enough strength to hold a line without the support of structure inside.

It needs to drape well (hang loosely and comfortably around your body)

If the material is too soft or too loosely woven, it fails under pressure and begins to look a little too wrinkled in spots.

So, to see an excellent example of what I’m referring too, check out this video from Luca Rubinacci.

This type of tailoring originated in the south of Italy, and he’s way more charismatic than me.

Enjoy.
