Stop Chasing Trends

Let's talk about trends.

They move quickly.

A new color.

A different silhouette.

Something everyone suddenly seems to be wearing.

And then, a few months later, nobody is.

There's nothing wrong with change.

But I've always thought there's a difference between changing your style and chasing it.

The best-dressed men I know aren't necessarily the ones who know what's trending.

They know what works.

They know what fits.

They know what they'll still want to wear next year.

Maybe even ten years from now.

That kind of certainty takes time.

You try things.

You make adjustments.

You figure out what belongs.

And eventually, you stop looking for the next thing.

You start looking for the right thing.

That's where quality matters.

Not because quality is always more expensive.

Because something made well has a better chance of earning its place.

And value isn't about how much you buy.

It's about how much something gives back over time.

So maybe the better question this season isn't:

“What's new?”

Maybe it's:

“What's worth keeping?”

Something to consider over coffee.
